The Urejesho Justice Initiative reflects our commitment to advancing restorative justice as a means of empowering victims, promoting offender accountability, and supporting rehabilitation and reintegration. We facilitate structured, trauma-informed interventions, including victim-offender mediation, family group conferencing, and community dialogue. By fostering inclusive, community-based responses to crime, the initiative strengthens access to justice, promotes social cohesion, and contributes to safer, more resilient communities.

Urejesho Justice Initiative seeks to:

What the Project Entails

The project focuses on addressing legal and social challenges through research, analysis, and capacity building. It also provides counselling, skills development, and vocational training to equip individuals with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods. In addition, entrepreneurship and start-up support are offered through mentorship, resources, and guidance, empowering individuals to rebuild their lives, achieve self-reliance, and successfully reintegrate into society.

Whether you are a student, legal professional, skilled practitioner, or simply someone passionate about creating positive social impact, there are opportunities to contribute. What Do Project Members Achieve At The End Of The Project?

Project members gain valuable experience while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Through their involvement, they develop leadership, teamwork, advocacy, and problem-solving skills, expand their professional networks, and contribute to initiatives that promote access to justice, rehabilitation, and social impact.

How Often Is The Project Run?

The Beyond Justice project is conducted once each year. Following the annual programme, participants continue to receive ongoing mentorship, guidance, and support through regular follow-up sessions throughout the year.
